Anti-aging benefits with SK-II Skin Signature Series
by Cynthia Loh

We know that olive oil makes your food taste good, and it has oils that are good for the heart too.

But did you know that olive oil has anti-aging properties that are beneficial to skin as well?

SK-II latest anti-aging skincare, Skin Signature Series, has a daily moisturizer that contains an olive oil derivative, Oli-Vityl, meant to help boost skin's ability to tolerate external and internal stresses and reduce wrinkles and lines and increase skin's plumpness.

Oli-Vityl is derived from an olive species that thrives in Tuscany, Italy which has a unique fatty acid composition that is similar to skin lipids to help the moisturiser penetrate deep into skin's inner layers.

Combined with its best-selling ingredient Pitera and SignalineTM, the moisturiser works to boost skin's ability to tolerate stresses by promoting the production of collagen, hyluronan, involucrin and fibronectin.

The SK-II Skin Signature is meant for women in their 30s and 40s, and who notice signs of aging to their skin that include fine lines, wrinkles and saggy skin.

The cream is easily absorbed by skin during application. Since it is a cream, it tends to be denser than a gel or water-based moisturiser. But for skin that is very dehydrated, cream moisturisers can be a godsend that can address fine lines caused by moisture loss, even in humid weather.

However, it is still suitable for use during the day, even when you're running around under a hot sun running errands since it did not have a heavy, sticky after-feel. There is no discernible scent, so the moisturiser does not react adversely with other make-up products or serums which may be scented, that you may have applied to your face.

But do be sure not to be heavy-handed with the moisturiser, as excess moisturiser will take a little more time to be absorbed by skin, before you can begin to apply your make-up base and foundation. Scoop about a 20-cent sized amount onto palm, then blend onto face with the entire area of your palms to ensure maximum absorption.

It's not enough to combat fine lines and wrinkles. Scientists at SK-II have also discovered that saggy skin along the cheekbones, nasolabial line, and at the corners of the mouth adds to your perceived age. To complement the moisturiser, SK-II also has the Skin Signature 3D Redefining Mask, a two-piece stretchable facial mask. The lower mask lifts all three sagging areas, while the upper mask targets wrinkle-prone areas.

To maximise the mask's benefits, ensure that the top mask completely covers the forehead and fits closely around the contours of brow bones. Ensure the bottom poriton of the mask covers the jawline and nose area, and then stretch the mask to just in front of the ear area. Leave the mask on for 15 minutes before removing, then blend the residual essence into face with palms.
