More luxury labels are calling ION Orchard home as it becomes the latest see-and-be-seen venue for the fashionable set. Last week, Italian ready-to-wear label Max Mara celebrated the opening of its flagship store at the newest shopping mall in Orchard Road with a fashion show that featured its Autumn/Winter 2009/10 collection.
The label showed off strong tailoring in its trench coats. Classic tones of tobacco, beige, pewter grey and black dominated the collection, but there were striking reds and royal blues to inject richness. Scarves were used as headgear and neck accessories. In the evening wear collection, luxe materials such as cashmere, alpaca, pure camelhair, wool jersey were spiced up with sequins Dresses were figure-hugging to show off a long and slim silhouette.
