Glycolic Foaming Cleanser

Like the rest of us mere mortals, the stars get oily and acne prone skin too. This is according to the long list of Hollywood celebrities and supermodels who have been named as users of this US range of natural anti-acne skincare, Mario Badescu.

The brand's bestseller is its Drying Lotion, a spot treatment which aids in drying up those nasty pimples quickly. Another unique item is the Silver powder, an oil absorbent powder that helps to unclog stubborn pores and soften stubborn blackheads for easy removal as well.

I tried the following cleansers and masks during my session:

Enzyme Cleansing Gel ($38)

It's a lightly-textured cleanser with papaya and grapefruit extracts which have AHA that is suitable for all skin types.

A non-foaming, gel cleanser that removes make-up, dirt and oil that did its job well and did not leave my skin feeling taut. Since ingredients are all natural, there was nothing to complain about the fragrance either.

Glycolic Foaming Cleanser ($48)

This is a deep, lathering cleanser with glycolic acid helps to remove build-up on skin's surface and also remove minor discolouration. It's recommended that you use this two to three times a week.

Silver Powder ($48)
Made with calcium carbonate, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, this powdery substance was applied on my face to absorb excess facial oil and soften blackheads, so they could be easily removed during extraction.

Collagen Moisturizer with SPF 15

Almond & Honey Face Scrub ($48)

The honey in this scrub makes it smell delicious and moisturizes your skin, while the finely ground almond and cornmeal are natural buffing ingredients that provide the bits to exfoliate skin with.

It felt gentle enough on my skin and had none of the artificial chemical smell that some scrubs have.

Seaweed Cleansing Lotion ($48)

This non-alcohol toner was used to remove the scrub residue and disinfect dry and sensitive skin. It has a mild witch hazel formula to remove pore clogging debris, and seaweed and aloe extract to soothe sensitive skin.

Good for dry, combination and sensitive skin types.

Super Collagen Mask & Collagen Moisturizer ($58 &$68 respectively )

My facial was finished off with the collagen and clay-based mask and followed with a collagen moisturiser, which are suitable for sensitive skin. The collagen in the mask and moisturiser promoted firmer skin, while natural ingredients such as azulene and oatmeal in the mask helped to soothe easily irritable skin.
