NEED some serious rest and relaxation but worried about how much the pampering will cost you?

Good news – now you can practise yoga, get your body waxed, or have a spa day at lower prices, thanks to the Great Singapore Sale (GSS), which ends on July 26.

And, judging from the various operators offering the deals, response has been good.

The True Group, which owns fitness centres, spas and yoga studios, began offering a GSS deal of four massages for $99 at its spas in May. The package gives consumers entry into its fitness outlets.

It is the first time the five-year-old group has offered a GSS deal, which has led to memberships at its fitness centres grow by 5 per cent this month over last month, said a spokesman for the group.

Spa Botanica calls its GSS deals a branding exercise, as “running seasonal promotions helps to heighten awareness of Spa Botanica”.

“The spa promotions have drawn good response thus far and we expect more spa bookings in the next two months,” said a spokesman.

And consumers, particularly those who don’t hit the GSS for clothes or electronics, are loving these lifestyle promotions.

Ms Phillipa Lum, 29, a human- resources manager, takes advantage of GSS spa deals yearly.

“I don’t need to buy more clothes or shoes, and I’d rather spend on treating myself well,” she said.

Mr Joel Lee, 30, a sales executive, also makes it a point to buy GSS spa and fitness packages. “Buying spa or fitness pack– ages on sale is a long-term investment, as you can sometimes use them throughout the year,” he said.
