The new lifestyle application, created exclusively by MasterCard, comes in handy for those of us wanting to get the best bang for our dollar this shopping fiesta.
 
With an interface that looks like a compass, the app functions like a shopping buddy/girlfriend/guide.
 
One easy swipe and the Deal Finder function allows you to search stores with GSS privileges available to MasterCard cardholders. If you thought you were savvy, this one lets you track and hone in on the best deals on the go - no time wasted. If you are in Malaysia, tap in again to find hot deals there too.
 
Well admit it, you've shopped alot this GSS. Thankfully, under the MasterCard Shopathon Rewards programme, you can accumulate your spend over the course of the sale to redeem rewards. From the app, you can also check out items available for redemption. However, actual purchase of redemption can only be done online on www.mastercard.com.sg/shopathon.
 
Also new, is the Shopping Buddy function - a virtual companion which enables you to share purchases and recommendations with friends, create polls and seek friends' advice on items to buy, through Facebook.
 
And there's more, MasterCard has tied up with big brands such as LG and Samsung and Reebonz.com to offer limited-time bonanzas at different periods during the sale. So look out for the Flash Sales (at the bottom of the app)!
