Fann and Zoe: Still colleagues, not friends?

14 years ago, Fann Wong said that she and Zoe Tay were "colleagues, not friends". Fast forward to today, are they still colleagues, and not friends, despite working on their latest drama serial together?

When my paper queried Fann about her statement earlier this year in January, the actress responded that their relationship "does not need to be described." But at a news conference held yesterday, Fann laughingly said: "We have become even better colleagues, haha!"

Elaborating further, she said: "We had a good laugh about this when we were filming together. Back then I was still naive and didn't explain what I said. I should have said that the reason I said we were just colleagues, not friends, was because I did not have the time to get to know Zoe."

After three months of filming together and constant interaction for their latest project, The Ultimatum, Fann now says they have become very good colleagues.

When asked, Zoe said: "There are definitely no ill feelings between Fann and I. We even chat in between scenes when we have time. She has also shared with me her experiences of working overseas. It is quite a good chance to get to know her better on a personal level after all these years.

But while Zoe claims that she and Fann have a better working relationship as colleagues these days, she is still closer to other artistes such as Pan Lingling and Ivy Lee.

Zoe says this is because these actresses have families of their own, like herself. She said: "Wait till Fann has a family and kids of her own, then she will be in our category!"
