To be 16 and starring in the No 1 movie at the US box office this week, you can't blame anyone for becoming a green-eyed monster.

And to think that this young US actress had also received an Oscar nomination at 14.

Hailee Steinfeld, who commands much screen time in the new sci-fi flick Ender's Game, has added another feather to her cap by becoming a style icon.

The Hollywood starlet went from landing a Kmart commercial at 12 to nabbing her star-making role in True Grit, for which she was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2011.

She's now rocking the red carpets at the Ender's Game premieres.

Steinfeld, once the face of Miu Miu, was also recently singled out by fashion royalty Karl Lagerfeld to wear Chanel's new cruise collection for a fashion spread in the November issue of Marie Claire magazine.

It's never easy to look high-fashion and yet stay age-appropriate, but Steinfeld is owning every bit of her sassy and sweet style.

One of our favourite looks she sported was from the Ender's Game photocall in Madrid, Spain, where she paired a fun Markus Lupfer sweater emblazoned with a sequined pout with a flirty mini skirt and a pair of Stuart Weitzman knee-high boots.
