Images of black lace layered over nude tones was suddenly popping up in every fashion magazine and fashion blog, and the fashion world was set abuzz.

For the voters who locked in their choice for the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards, this definitive look made a big enough impression to garner a whopping 50.6 per cent of the total number of votes.

In second spot was Dolce & Gabbana's passion for plaid. From maxi dresses to mini-skirts, the print dominated runway during the designers' 2006 Fall fashion show. And why not? Tartan is distinctive and slightly maverick, and when worn in a sleek sillhouette, it does it fair share of upping one's own style quotient.

Taking third spot on AsiaOne readers' list of favourite fashion looks was the slouchy suit, as interpreted by Helmut Lang's designers Nicole Colovos and her husband Michael. The jacket was given a tuxedo cut, and paired with tailored shorts, has a sleek and casual look.
