Review: Benefit Creaseless Cream eyeshadow
by Niki Bruce

If you're looking for comfortable, long-wearing, well-pigmented eyeshadow, try Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow

WHAT: Benefit Creaseless Cream eyeshadow is an award-winning make-up product from the American brand founded by twins and famous for its Benetint and POREfessional products as well as for its cute 50s packaging and "fun" product names. The Benefit Creaseless Cream eyeshadow is said to be "budge-proof" as well as "crease-proof" with a wide range of colours available including seven new shades launched in May 2013; bikini-tini (oyster pink), r.s.v.p. (sparkling champagne), no pressure! (rich fawn), my two cents (copper), always a bridesmaid (lavender), blue my mind (arctic blue), bronze have more fun (antique bronze), skinny jeans (pewter brown) and holy smokes! (charcoal).

Benefit Cosmetics Creaseless Cream eyeshadow, $32, is available from Benefit counters at Tangs Orchard, Robinsons Raffles City and all Sephora stores. For more information about the brand, go to www.benefitcosmetics.com, and in Singapore, follow it on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BenefitCosmeticsSingapore.

REVIEW: I'm a major user of eyeshadow, I've got all sorts of colours and formulations, but I almost always find that even the most strongly pigmented shades have either faded or slipped off at the end of a hot Singapore day; which is why I was intrigued by the claims of the Benefit Cosmetics Creaseless Cream eyeshadow.

"Budge-proof" and "crease-less" are two things we're always looking for in the world of eye make-up, after all.

So, does this product live up to the claims? Yes, absolutely. The Benefit Cosmetics Creaseless Cream eyeshadow is both budge-proof and crease-less, even after a long day of running around in hot, sweaty Singapore weather.

My only issue with this eyeshadow is that while the colours look lovely and strong in the pot, when actually applied they tend to soften out to a lighter, more "shimmery" effect than I prefer. For example, the shade of skinny jeans, a darkish pewter brown looks perfect for an evening, smokey-eye effect but turns out to be more of a defined, daytime colour. This is fine if you're not a fan of strongly coloured eyeshadow, but not very helpful when choosing your pots.

However, if you don't like to spend a lot of time on your makeup, these handy pots of colour are great for quick, smooth application in the morning; you needn't even bother with eyeliner if you just want a nice bit of definition with a couple of sweeps of colour.

All in all, the Benefit Cosmetics Creaseless Cream eyeshadows are perfect for women who don't want to have to worry about touching up, or slippage, when it comes to their eyeshadow.
