Their 20-year age gap seemed a good enough reason for doubters to suggest the marriage was in trouble. Furthermore, Datuk K - as he is better known - has four sons from a previous marriage.

Rumours abounded that the businessman was even abusive towards the pop queen, had married another woman and that he was seeing Rozita Che Wan.

But the pair have managed to weather the gossip since their lavish wedding in 2006.

Siti said at a press conference then: "For me, the age difference is not an issue... it is all in the hands of God. Our relationship, meeting, life and death are all in the hands of God."

Since they tied the knot in a grand affair dubbed the "wedding of the year" last year, the KRU singer-actordirector and his actress wife have enjoyed a year of marital bliss.

On their anniversary in February, Yusry had surprised her with a romantic self-penned song that moved her so much, she could hardly hold back tears of joy.

The 13-year age gap hardly bothers them.

"The chemistry between us surpasses that," Yusry told The New Paper in April.

Added Lisa: "It's a good age gap, to be honest. We complement each other."

It's character that matters, not age, AirAsia flight attendant Azlan told The Star Online last April, after he tied the knot with the singer-actress and member of Malaysian girl group Elite.

"Azza (as she is commonly known) is straightforward. The most important thing is that she's funny and that attracts me to her," he said.

The biggest blow to the couple with a nine-year age gap came last September, when Azzarima suffered a miscarriage seven weeks into her pregnancy.

But she said that it further strengthened their relationship.

"Who knows, if it's fate, I might be pregnant again in future," she told Harian Metro in February.
