It must be tough being Gwyneth Paltrow, who goes from most hated to most beautiful in a week.

In a week, Oscar-winning actress and best-selling cookbook author Gwyneth Paltrow (right) went from Star magazine's "most hated celebrity" to People magazine's "most beautiful woman".

Then in a day, in her own words, she went from "most beautiful" to "most humiliated".

This was at the premiere of Iron Man 3 in Hollywood last Wednesday, when she put on a super-sheer Antonio Berardi gown.

Underwear was not an option for the dress with see-through panels running down the sides, she realised.

"Let's just say everyone went scrambling for a razor," she told talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres later. "I work a 70s vibe. You know what I mean?"

Either way - hated, beautiful or humiliated - she has to be the 40-year-old female Hollywood star with the mostest.

She is married with two children to a rock star (Coldplay frontman Chris Martin). She is best friends with pop stars (Beyonce and Jay-Z).

She has a new cookbook, It's All Good, debuting on the New York Times bestseller list and a new movie, Iron Man 3, destined to be a global hit.

Also, she has incredibly toned legs - and now the whole world knows just how toned they are.
