Review: Philosophy Full of Promise Dual-Action Restoring Cream
by Hong Xinying

WHAT: The Philosophy Full of Promise Dual-Action Restoring Cream aims to moisturise your skin and make it look firmer and fuller than before. According to Philosophy, this anti-ageing product will also help boost the natural collagen production of your skin.

Key ingredients of the Full of Promise cream include marine phytoplankton and extracts of kigelia, an african fruit that is said to improve the firmness and elasticity of your skin.

The Philosophy Full of Promise Dual-Action Restoring Cream, $102, is available from all Sephora stores and Tangs Orchard, Tangs Beauty on Level 1, in Singapore.

REVIEW: I'm currently in my mid-twenties; while signs of age like fine lines and loss of skin firmness are not yet obvious, it's a good time to start on an anti-ageing routine. On top of that, my sinus problems had made the skin around my nose dry and sometimes flaky. My skin was clearly in need of an effective moisturising cream.

As I spread the thick and rich cream gently onto my face, I was concerned that the Philosophy Full of Promise Dual-Action Restoring Cream would leave a greasy residue on my skin. Happily, this wasn't the case. My skin felt tighter shortly after I'd applied the cream. While the cream felt initially sticky on my face, it was quickly absorbed by my skin.

It's been a few weeks since I started using this cream. While the effects are not instantaneous, the Philosophy cream seems to have solved my dry skin problems. After using it twice a day diligently, the affected area around my nose gradually became more hydrated and less prone to peeling. Now, I'm no longer bugged by flaky skin woes.

I'll have to wait to see if the "youthful" skin firmness lasts beyond my twenties; if it does, I may just have anti-ageing products like this to thank.
