People even curse me with miscarriage

Some of the harshest criticisms were for her decision to keep her trademark dyed hair.

Her gynaecologist had given her the go ahead, she says, but "when people see the coloured hair on a pregnant woman, they immediately get so angry and start insulting me".

" For example, I made the decision to continue dyeing my hair after my first trimester, because my Gynae Dr Law Wei Seng told me it was safe to do so."

"I've even had people curse that I get a miscarriage."

But she shrugs it off.

"The blessings I get from readers are so much more than the nasty comments anyway."

Cheng has had more than her fair share of ups and downs in her blogging career.

She received flak for getting sponsored cosmetic surgery in 2006, for her use of Photoshop and for her sometimes overly harsh words.

Her years of blogging has also led to other painful episodes, such as having her blog hacked or becoming embroiled in spats with other bloggers.

On the positive side, she has been named Top 50 Newsmaker of 2005 by The Straits Times and her blog was the first from Singapore to enter the Technorati Global Top 100 Blogs List.

She also had her own television show, Girls Out Loud.

"Blogging has brought me almost everything that is good in my life. I wouldn't even know my husband if not for blogging.

"I'd never ever regret it - it is probably the single best decision I've ever made, to start blogging."
