According to a number of reports over the weekend, international luxury fashion brand Chanel will be showing its Cruise 2013-14 collection in Singapore on May 9, 2013.
Creative director of Chanel, Karl Largerfeld, has been known to favour exotic locations for his Resort and Cruise collection launches including the super-luxe Métiers D'Art collections, so far visiting Shanghai, Versailles and a drafty Scottish castle.
It remains to be seen where Kaiser Karl will choose for his Singapore show … Marina Bay Sands' rooftop ‒ the brand has previously shown a collection re-run there ‒ or somewhere more in keeping with Karl's historical bent? The Padang? The Asian Civilisations Museum; the old Kallang Airport?
Naturally enough Singapore's fashion cognoscenti are clamouring for information on how to get invited to the show.
One suspects being a Chanel VIP customers is probably the only surefire way of getting what will be a very coveted invitation.
Chanel boutiques in Singapore are located at Takashimaya Shopping Centre and The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. For more information about Chanel, go to www.chanel.com. Follow Chanel on Facebook at www.facebook.com/chanel and on Twitter at @CHANEL.
