Q&A with Feng, 23

Feng, 23, became the first Chinese golfer

- male or female - to win a Major tournament, when she won the LPGA Championship last June. Has life changed after winning the Major?

It was initially a sense of relief - I've finally won after five years on the LPGA circuit.

But golf in China is still nothing compared to tennis.

When Li Na won her Grand Slam title in 2011, she became so famous that everyone in China could recognise her.

More people do recognise me after last year's win, but my fame is still very limited.

What is your target this year, and what have you done in the off-season to improve?

I hope to win at least two LPGA tournaments this year. Last year, I played 32 tournaments and I was really tired by the end of the season.

So, basically, much of the off-season was spent resting.

I took a month off and returned to my hometown in China, then I returned to my golf academy in Orlando, and trained for about three weeks.

Last week, I played my season-opener (at the LPGA Thailand), and came in eighth.

It's not a bad start.

Some golfers believe the secret to Asian golfers' success is in their short game. Do you think Asians generally putt better?

Not really. I believe that Asians generally have better mental strength, and we work really hard.

Maybe that's the secret to our success.
