Keeping mum on marriage
by Charlene Chua

If Tsai has any plans to marry Dawson, she didn't reveal them during the interview.

Since the couple got together two years ago, they have been hounded consistently by the Taiwanese paparazzi.

Although the lovebirds have not come out about their relationship, they have been caught on many dates by the Taiwanese media. Their favourite haunts include night markets, cinemas and the gym.

While Tsai kept mum on whether she would be spending Chinese New Year visiting with her boyfriend, it is clear that she's in love.

When asked about the newly-acquired eight-pack of her ex-boyfriend, Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou, she seemed uninterested, merely saying: "Yes, I've seen pictures of it. Being healthy is an important thing."

But when the topic turned to Dawson, Tsai said with a smile: "In love, I believe in fate. "If you find someone whom you can get along with and have a good conversation (with), then you will be so much more relaxed about life.

"You must not let the pressure from work burden your relationship."

Tsai admitted that work has at times taken a toll on her during her successful 15-year stint in the entertainment industry.

One way she handles the stress: Shopping.

Tsai also said that she makes time for relaxation and does so by indulging in food and drink.

She said: "You must always find the time to balance your life. If you have the opportunity, you must take care of yourself.

"The biggest change I've seen in myself is that I'm so much more confident now.

"A celebrity without confidence is one who will fail."

The dancing queen was happy at being given the opportunity to be a judge at the Remy Martin Centaur Dance Showdown Regional Finals, as she has seen many Taiwanese youngsters who love to dance, but who have never had the opportunity to showcase their talent.

Six dance crews from countries such as Thailand, India, the Philippines and Singapore competed for a chance to walk away with US$10,000 (S$12,300).

Said Tsai: "When people do something they love, they give off a remarkable sense of beauty about them.

"I'm the same. When I see something I like, I want to immerse myself in it too."
