Japanese celebrity hairstylist Shunji Matsuo has opened a new salon called Hair Atelier by Shunji Matsuo.

The cosy 1,000 sq ft hair boutique at 04-04 Ion Orchard is all about "taking time out to pamper and treat your hair", says the chain's international director, Ms Evande Loh.

Attention is paid to the little details. For example, you can read magazines downloaded on a tablet.

There are currently nine Shunji Matsuo salons here; the Atelier and the flagship Hair Studio at 05-23 Takashimaya Shopping Centre are the most upscale ones.

Prices start from $80 for a haircut at these two salons; call 6509-5833 for details and appointments.
