Biotherm has launched its latest breakthrough in night moisturising care, the Biotherm Aquasource Nuit (Night).

The unique gel-turns-balm texture is formulated to combat water loss from the skin and deliver overnight hydration while you sleep.

According to Biotherm's research, skin loses up to four times more water than in the day.

It's star ingredient, the P. Antarctica extract, purportedly boosts the production of new skin cells by up to 25 per cent after just 48 hours.

This renewal of cells makes them more efficient in retaining moisture.

According to Biotherm's tests, 94 per cent of women reported that their skin felt more moisturised after one month of use, while 77 per cent reported more luminous skin.

Unlike other night creams, the Aquasource Nuit comes in the form of a "high density hydrating jelly", a major breakthrough in texture for its Aquasource range.

We liked that the gel was light, without the 'heavy' texture of many night creams.

Within seconds of application, the gel seemed to dissolve readily into the skin and was non-greasy to the touch.

Skin also felt supple and refreshed in the morning.

While the product had a slight anti-septic scent we thought, it was nothing too overpowering.

The Biotherm Aquasource Nuit ($75) will be available from July 1 at Biotherm counters at all leading department stores.
