It's an on-screen reunion almost 10 years in the making.

So when the cast of the sex comedy American Pie: Reunion gathered on the red carpet to promote it, I was most curious about the battle of the blondes.

Mena Suvari, 33, and Tara Reid, 36, have always been the franchise's most attractive females.

So have they aged poorly?

Have they been under the knife so much that they are beyond recognition?

Are we going to see Reid's breast pop out of her dress a la 2004's highly embarrassing wardrobe malfunction at P Diddy's party?

Thankfully, none of the above happened.

And both actresses are looking better than I've seen in a long time.

The ladies weren't shining as brightly at the Los Angeles premiere, but I can live with that.

Suvari stayed true to her favourite designer Christian Siriano, wearing a fussy strapless silk organza spiral pleated cocktail dress that made her appear wider than she is, but at least it's a twist on the standard LBD.

Not too sure about those chunky Giuseppe Zanotti black and silver crystal embellished pumps, though.

There wasn't a trace of the trashiness once synonymous with Reid in LA, so she scores points for "most improved".

The white flowy gown with cross-body strap and slicked-back ponytail was about clean lines, but it was also a bit too safe.

One thing hasn't changed after all these years, though: Reid is obviously still unable to wean herself off self-tanning.
