Sweet deals at this Marina mall
by Victoria Barker

The busy executive is always on the go and may find it difficult to find time for retail therapy, even on weekends.

So, being able to squeeze in a bit of shopping during lunch or after the work day has ended is a much-needed reprieve.

Those working in the Marina Bay area have this luxury, thanks to the Marina Bay Link Mall, which opened in 2010.

Boasting about 176,000 sq ft of retail space, it offers a distinct blend of quality fashion brands, dining options and lifestyle services.

You can be sure it has everything a savvy and sophisticated executive would need.

Located in the heart of the Marina Bay Financial Centre, and just a stone's throw from Marina Bay Sands and walking distance from Raffles Place MRT station, the snazzy mall is the venue sponsor of my paper's Executive 2012 contest.

The fifth instalment of the annual contest aims to find the savviest young executive out there today.

The mall will also connect the future Downtown MRT station - slated to open next year - to neighbouring buildings.

Ms Rose Tong, the mall's director of retail management, told my paper that the Marina Bay area "embodies the motto of working, playing and living together".

"It is a place with loads of attractions and round-the-clock energy that continues during and outside office hours," she added.

Among the retail options on the subterranean level of the mall are fashion brands M)Phosis (#B2-13) and Giordano Ladies (#B2-29), and authorised Apple reseller Nubox (#B2-33/34).

There are also unique lifestyle concepts such as Artists In The Residence (#B2-11), which combines a cafe with a store selling vintage-looking ladies' dresses and unique knick-knacks.

As for those who prefer to do a spot of grocery shopping before heading home after work, there's the Four Seasons Gourmet Market, which sells premium organic products to cater to the corporate crowd.

In line with its "Savvy In The New Downtown" campaign, Marina Bay Link Mall is offering customers a slew of promotions this month.

Until April 30, those who spend a minimum of $30 at the mall's outlets will be entitled to free parking.

Here are other cool deals to look out for:

The first 500 shoppers to spend a minimum of $50 from last Friday till next Friday can redeem a $5 shopping voucher.

The first 300 shoppers to spend a minimum of $50 from April 22 to April 30 can redeem an exclusive notebook. This is in celebration of Administrative Professionals Day, which falls on April 25.
