B cup or bust
by Charlene Chua

THE beautiful 1.79m-tall model asks her celebrity husband once a year if she can do it.

But he has always said no because he loves her the way she is.

Eurasian VJ-host Lisa Selesner - better known as Lisa S - may have gorgeous cheekbones and never-ending legs, but she has often lamented her "flat chest" and she wants a boob job.

Her husband, Hong Kong actor Daniel Wu, has turned down her request every year, but he will not be able to stop her when the couple finally have children.

They got married last year after dating for eight years.

Selesner, 31, told The New Paper: "He's great because he likes me the way I am.

"When we have kids and they (her breasts) turn into flapjacks, I will be having the surgery to keep myself looking good.

"I regret not having had a boob job when I was a lot younger - that would have got me many lingerie modelling jobs."

Selesner was in town to promote three of her upcoming projects.

She has been hosting news magazine programme E! News Asia since October, taking over from Marion Caunter who is on maternity leave.

She will also be the host and judge of reality TV modelling competition Supermodelme 3 and the spokesmodel of GlamaBox, an online subscription service that delivers cosmetics to one's doorstep.

Selesner was refreshingly honest as she revealed her struggle with a below-average-size chest.

She said modelling lingerie "paid well" and she was never scouted for these gigs as "no one wants to see me in a negligee".

"When I lie down, I have no cleavage to speak of, and I can go without a bra...that's how small I am.

"I love curves and I would love to have a figure like (Italian actress) Monica Bellucci.

"The ideal size for me would be a B cup. I think that would be just nice for my height andframe."

Surprisingly, Selesner also wants to be 3cm shorter and a few kilos heavier.

She said that as a child, she used to be bullied badly in school as she was "tall and gawky".

Said Selesner, who now weighs 54kg: "I've always had the problem of not being able to put on weight, my collarbones just stick out.

"I love food and am fond of salty, rather than sweet, stuff, but I've never seen the 60kg mark on the scale in my life.

"I lose weight so easily, I lost five pounds (2.3kg) some time back just like that, that I have to go to the gym to do weight training just so I don't lose too much."

Born to a French-Chinese father and a Jewish-American mother, Selesner has been modelling in the US and Europe since she was 14, thanks to her exotic good looks.

Her parents split when she was a year old and she has seen her biological father only thrice since then.

Her stepfather is also Jewish-American, so Selesner was raised in a predominantly Jewish environment.

Her career took her to Hong Kong in 2000 where she met Wu, 37. The US-born heart-throb is also a director and producer and starred in Hong Kong films such as New Police Story (2004) and Shinjuku Incident (2009).

Selesner shortened her surname to "S" because people in Hong Kong had trouble pronouncing it.

She married Wu in South Africa, in a quaint ceremony attended by a cosy crowd of just 30.

The couple are trying for their first child.

Selesner admitted that she isn't the "maternal" type and before meeting Wu, had never really entertained the thought of having children.

"Kids are there, they are small and soft. I hope I get to like them more in the future.

"When I met Daniel, he was the first guy that made me feel secure about having a child because I know he will be an excellent father.

"He has offered to take a year off work to help me take care of the baby after I give birth," she said.

The pair have differing views on the ideal family size. Wu wants a "soccer team" while Selesner wants only one child.

No hurry to get pregnant

Preferring to have a boy because a girl would make her protective hubby "wait outside the house with a shotgun to ward off potential suitors as soon as she turns three", Selesner said that she, unlike Wu, is in no hurry to get pregnant now.

Her doctor has also told her that she has "many more" child-bearing years left.

But if she is unable to conceive naturally, she and Wu are open to the idea of in vitro fertilisation, surrogacy or adoption.

Married life, she added, has not been too different for the couple as they had lived together for five years before they got married.

Said Selesner: "Daniel has farted in front of me when we were dating and he still farts in front of me after we are married.

"Guys are like that, they don't care about such things.

"What has also stayed constant for me is that in the time that I have been with him, I have never had eyes for any other man, and I do work with many good-looking male models."

So if Wu wanted to have plastic surgery himself, would she allow it?

Selesner said Wu is physically "perfect" and has never had any intention of changing anything about himself.

According to his besotted wife, Wu has an eight-pack, no chest hair - Selesner finds this a "huge plus" - and looks good "everywhere".

Selesner herself wants to help women all over the world look their best.

She said: "With GlamaBox, I want to reach the masses of women who are too busy to take care of themselves, be it because of kids or work.

"I'm talking about even those women who live on rural farms. These cosmetics will be delivered right to their door. They need make-up too, right?"

The first batch of Singapore GlamaBoxes will be out on Dec 1.

E! News Asia airs every Sunday at 11am and 8.40pm on E! Entertainment (StarHub Ch 441).

Supermodelme Season 3 premieres next year on Channel 5 and KIX (StarHub Ch 518).

So what is Selesner's own best-kept beauty secret?

"Washing my face before I go to bed each night. You'll be surprised at how many women secretly go to sleep with a dirty face," she said with a laugh.
