BRITISH singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor was in town to entertain 400 guests at the closed-door Audi Red Carpet Night on Wednesday, May 11.

The alabaster-skinned performer managed to snag some shopping time during her brief stopover in Singapore. Surprisingly instead of making a beeline for high-end fashion brands, the songstress headed to Far East Plaza where she bought three dresses and a playsuit within the hour.

Clearly Ellis-Bextor does not have expensive taste when it comes to fashion choices. She also does not mind wearing old outfits in her new music videos.
 
The British beauty, who has been singing for more than 10 years, also comes across as well-mannered and down-to-earth in person.

The mother of two boys said she is hoping for a third child but in the meantime, she has to focus on touring the world to promote her fourth album, Make A Scene, which is expected to hit the shelves next month.
