Kym Ng, 40s, actress and host

She has an irrepressible, hearty laugh and likes nothing more than to wear shorts and her trusty gam-toning FitFlops when she is off duty.

But this veteran MediaCorp artiste is one hard worker. Ng is currently trying to master table tennis for a new drama series, Table Of Glory, in which she plays a former national table tennis champion.

Sheathed in a Herve Leger dress for the photo shoot, the newly minted Marie France Bodyline spokesmodel says she is relieved that her endorsement deal has led her to go from 52kg to 46kg.

What's your ideal present for Christmas?

A nice dress to celebrate my new slim figure and show off my legs. I'm petite, so short dresses look nicer on me.

What was the best thing that happened to you this year?

Slimming down. I put on weight over the past two years, partly because I'm getting older and my metabolism is slowing down. I also wasn't exercising because I was working very long hours and had no energy.

What was the worst?

Having no time for myself. I did three variety shows and two sitcoms in four months earlier in the year, and I had only two days off during that period.

What's your wish for 2009?

A longer holiday. I'd also like to learn a new sport and go mountain-climbing.

My boyfriend and I are also looking for a house. When we do, we will have our wedding, but it will be just a private tea ceremony - no friends, no colleagues, no dinner and no wedding gown.

We have been together for more than 10 years so getting married is more to answer to my parents.
