Linda Locke, 55, marketing consultant for Club 21

The jewellery lover was appointed Club 21's marketing consultant in May. Her biggest project so far is the creation of Japanese architect Shigeru Ban's Containart Pavilion for the recent Singapore Biennale, which housed Club 21's Art Of The T installation.

Locke, the first woman to win the Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Institute of Advertising Singapore, also owns Godmother Consulting, a brand consultancy she started last year.

She is married to a 50-year-old American interior designer and they have a 12-year-old son, Jackson.

What's your ideal present for Christmas?

Pomellato jewellery. I love the designs from this Italian brand because they are simple, refined yet innovative and superbly crafted.

What was the best thing that happened to you this year?

Going to Peru in June and making it to the ancient Inca city Machu Picchu.

What was the worst?

I found out only last month that my ex-fiance, an architect, had died in 1997. I was engaged to him for six years in the 1970s.

Nobody knows what happened. He had just put his one-year-old to bed, went to sleep and never woke up again.

What's your wish for 2009?

For people everywhere to stay positive through this economic crisis.
