Quickie marriage the solution to unwanted pregnancies?

Whether it is to 'save face', or to give a baby a home, some teens face family pressure to get married when they find themselves pregnant out of wedlock.

But is a quickie marriage to best solution?

Some readers have previously wrote to say that teaching boys and girls to say 'no' is a much better prevention measure.

The fact that there are halfway houses such as The Sanctuary House in Siingapore, one unwanted pregnancy is still one too many.

But as the saying goes, there is no use crying over spilled milk.

How we as a society attempt to resolve the issue of a life that is already created will reflect the kind of values that we hold in esteem, regarding family life and the burden of parenthood.

And that will be key to breaking the vicious circle that is first created by young teens who do not understand the responsibility of unprotected sex outside of marriage.
