New luxe creams
by Karen Tee

These luxury creams cost more than usual but its effects are visible.

La Prairie Cellular Cream Platinum Rare (50ml) $1,710

This anti-ageing cream launched in May contains platinum extract – the rarest of all metals.

The nano-sized particles of platinum are said to be able to help restore the electrical balance in the skin, which enhances its ability to absorb other anti-ageing ingredients and also function at its optimal level.

Sisley Supremya (50ml) $950

This multi-tasking night potion launched in September combines the moisturising comfort of a cream with the nourishing benefits of a serum.

It contains active botanical ingredients which are said to stimulate the skin cells’ ability to repair themselves, hence combating skin damage from ultra-violet radiation and oxidative stress.

Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Exceptional Complete Care Cream (50ml) $597 (from January)

This new and improved version of Guerlain’s Orchidee Imperiale creme contains extracts of three species of orchids that the brand’s scientists picked for their longevity and ability to survive in harsh conditions.

The orchid extract is said to boost the regeneration potential of the skin’s cells, thus keeping the ravages of time at bay.
