Li-lin and Allan's split: She 'took control of matters' while he was like a 'big child'

Speculation has been rife after local celebrity couple Wong Lilin and Allan Wu chose to call time on their 10-year marriage last Thursday (Jun 13).

The couple shocked Singaporeans when they announced, through their management company Fly Entertainment, that they would be filing for divorce after coming to a "mutual decision".

One of the reasons that may have led to the split could be a difference in their characters, Chinese newspaper Lianhe Wanbao reported.

According to an unnamed source from within the showbiz circles, Lilin was one who reportedly assumed the 'director's chair' in matters between the two.

Despite having a big sense of responsibility in his role as a father, Allan was claimed to be a 'big child' in terms of working things out due to his inability to maintain the pace of things in life, thus leading to the cooling of their relationship.

A source also suggested that the split could be due to an alleged extra-marital affair.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity and is also from within the entertainment industry, claimed that one of them had gone on trips with someone from the opposite sex, and that he or she behaved in an 'intimate manner' with the other party.

The source also said that this person was spotted on a date with a 'Westerner' at a Japanese restaurant in Shanghai, where the couple was based at.

However, the thought of a third party wrecking the couple's marriage was dismissed by Lilin's business partner, who told Lianhe Wanbao that the split was probably due to "a difference in opinion about life between the two".

Since the public announcement, the duo have remained tight-lipped on this matter, with Wu asking for privacy to be given to their family.
