After Saint-Tropez last year, the 2011/12 Chanel Cruise Collection fashion show took place in the South of France once more, but this time in the sublime gardens of the Hotel Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, overlooking the sea. The collection began with some unexpected colours, such as daffodil yellow and mauve grey. Tight-fitting skirts fell below the knee.

There were many white pieces, pure, satin, light, accompanied by accessories, including jewels, pearls, and diamonds from the haute joaillerie collection. Not to be forgotten is the graphic touch, the prints, and of course the tweed.

Men’s shirts served as blouses, worn with fluid pants. Supermodel Kristen McMenamy, 46 years old, made two passages, one in particular that was very popular with the men…A quick glimpse was given of the 30 minute film, The Tale of a Fairy, which tells the story behind this fashion show, directed by Karl Lagerfeld, and is available to be viewed on the Chanel website. Simply, a Riviera chic mid-season collection, simultaneously soft and precious, strong and unique, with numerous dresses covered in thousands of details and embroidery…without a doubt ready to be displayed on the red carpets of the Cannes Film Festival which takes place only a few kilometres away.
