The making of the Gucci ad campaign
by

For the launch of their first collection for children, in shops the world over in November, Gucci selected Jennifer Lopez and her two children to be the faces of the Summer 2011 ad campaign.

To coincide with this, the famous Italian label has made a donation of US$1 million to UNICEF’s “Schools for Africa” program, cementing the relationship between the label and the famous charitable foundation even more. A film of the making of the photo shoot – filmed in Malibu – has also been produced to mark the occasion.

Jennifer Lopez: "Frida and I recently caught up over lunch and she told me about her trip to Malawi, and when she explained her idea about linking the new Gucci children’s collection with a huge donation to further build on Gucci’s projects for UNICEF in 2010, I realised this was a huge idea, and something that was very special and that really touched my heart. When she asked me and my babies to be a part of it – and we’ve never done anything like this before – and it was very challenging to shoot the pictures, but a lot of fun, of course I had to say yes."

Frida Giannini: "I’ve always been a fan of Jennifer’s, both as a musical artist and as an actress, but most of all now I see her as a loving mother. I know the concern Jennifer has for the well being of children which makes her participation in this campaign especially meaningful. We realise how fortunate we are, and we hope to help UNICEF proceed in their vital efforts to help disadvantaged children."
