50-year-old Yammie Lam's miraculous recovery amazed many fans. What made the difference?

Yammie has long been plagued with emotional disorders for over 10 years. Because of her unusual behavior she was checked into a hospital psychiatric ward.

A magazine later reported that in Chinese media interview, she stated that two film industry bigwigs raped her 30 years ago, and the experience caused her physical and psychological damage.

After the report went public, former friend, actress Carina Lau, as well as many in the industry expressed concern over her condition.

Yammie appeared in church yesterday for the first time in a long time, looking much healthier and younger. With religion and caring church friends, her condition has reportedly improved.

When asked about how her health was, Yammie had no expression and did not reply, but her church friend replied for her, "Great".

Nor did Yammie respond when asked if she wanted to see Carina Lau.

When interviewed, her church friend revealed that she and Yammie had just gone to church in the morning. Yammie's condition was great and she hoped no one would disturb her.

Past reports claimed that Yammie only trusted actors Andy Lau and Jackie Chan.

Two days ago, Jackie attended an event in Beijing. When asked about Yammie's rape revelation, he said, "It's a long story, one that can't be finished in a few words. Next time let's talk about this in an one on one interview."

He quickly left after that. The Performing Artist Guild replied yesterday to inquiries about the rapes. Yammie was its member.

PAG said it has stayed in contact with her and expressed concern with the reports on Yammie.

But for now Yammie has not asked for any assistance. However, PAG said it had contacted her to let her know tha, if needed, it will provide her with assistance.
