The Taiwanese host of TV show Lady First, Pauline Lan, is not afraid to speak her mind about Singaporean women's dressing.
As shown on her popular Taiwanese television show Lady First, veteran host Pauline Lan is not one to mince her words.
She is no different off-screen.
While in town to launch the local edition of Lady First, the 47-year-old style guru was asked to rate the way Singaporean women look.
"A lot of Singaporean girls have either too little or too much make-up on; it's often not suited for the occasion.
"It can be very inconsistent. Sometimes, you see girls with great make-up but you look down and see her dressing and it's like, what is she wearing? Some wear really pretty clothes and look all dressed up but their hair is really greasy and oily."
Lan's razor-sharp wit and straight-talking nature were on full display at the press conference at Marina Bay Sands last week.
Dressed in a cleavage-baring, flowing white sundress, the toned and svelte Lan, who has been in show business for two decades, spoke of her encounters with local women.
One of her main bugbears is how they wear the wrong underwear.
"I was told that Singaporean women are shy and don't like to buy larger bras, so they buy a smaller size and then you can see all their extra fat spilling out from the sides."
"Sometimes, women wear the wrong underwear," she said. Then she pointed at event host YES 93.3 FM deejay Lin Peifen and said: "I mean, look at her. She is wearing such a large piece of underwear with such a tight dress and you can tell from the back."
Lin, 31, looked embarrassed and asked Lan if she should be wearing a thong instead, to which the latter agreed.
When asked for her opinion on the Singaporean team, Lan said: "They're all very young and vibrant and very daring, they are bold enough to say what's on their minds."
So how would she rate the style of the average Singaporean woman? "I'll give Singaporean women three out of 10."
But it is not entirely their fault, she feels.
"I give Singaporean women this mark because of the men. Singaporean men don't give Singaporean women the urge to dress up. You look at them and they're so sloppy, you'll think what's the point of being so dolled up?"

I'm sure Pauline Lan would be the first to strip and parade all if it weren't considered vulgar to do so in public.

Its apparent Lan is in denial of her age and refuses to act her age, choosing controversial talk, dressing and outlandish behaviour to grab attention.
At 47, has she ever married? Has any Taiwan man ever found her personality and traits good enough to marry , love and respect her the way proper ladies would?
I view her as nothing but crass and pretending to be demure and refined.
