Through television and billboard advertisements in the 1980s, supermodels such as Brooke Shields, Kim Alexis and Elle Macpherson, became household names.

Macpherson was named Elle "The Body" Macpherson by Time Magazine in 1986. 27 years on, she looks younger than her 49 years and still has got the body.

The 1980s also had "The Face". Life Magazine christened Carol Alt as "The Next Million Dollar Face" and she became one of the most famous models, fronting ad campaigns from fashion houses to consumer products such as Pepsi. Now, Alt still looks great for her age, and credits that to a raw food diet.

These cover girls of the 1980s are still in the beauty business, and have maintained their looks well.
