What have fried chicken and modelling got in common? Nothing, but frying chicken is exactly what landed a 19-year-old Taiwanese girl a modelling contract in Japan.

Cheng Chia-chen jumped to Internet stardom after appearing in a video teaching people how to make fried chicken.

The video, which was part of an advertising campaign for Bao Liao Fried Chicken, went viral in Taiwan, Japan and Hong Kong.

Cheng is now lovingly referred to in Taiwan as 'Fried Chicken Girl'.
