A million-dollar bra, Rihanna, Justin Bieber and heavenly bods with glittery wings - and hardly anything else - were the highlights of the annual Victoria's Secret fashion extravaganza held in New York on Wednesday evening.
Rihanna wore a sheer pink mini with her bra peeking out and sang 'Fresh out the Runway' as she strutted alongside some of the world's top models. According to The Associate Press, she rocked the runway held at Manhattan's Lexington Avenue Armory as the audience went wild when she came on stage.
The Victoria's Secret fashion show is a must-see event in the fashion calendar as it is the US underwear brand's only showcase for their new lines each year.
This year's event had a slight twist, according to the report, as Victoria's Secret and CBS had each made a donation to relief efforts for Superstorm Sandy.
Donning the Victoria's Secret's gem encrusted Fantasy bra this year was Alessandra Ambrosio, who told People Magazine in an earlier interview that the she felt that bra was made for her.
Handset by Long Island, New York's London Jewelers, the exclusive bra - which costs U$2.5 million (S$3.07 million) - includes amethysts, sapphires, rubies and diamonds, as well as a removable 20-carat white diamond at the centre. It also comes with a matching belt studded with 5,200 gems.
Australian model Miranda Kerr wore last year's Fantasy Bra in the brand's fashion show, but it was the turn of 31-year-old Ambrosio.
"I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," said the Brazilian hottie, who first walked in the lingerie label's show in 2004.
Justin Bieber and Bruno mars also performed at the show. While some reports praised Bieber for looking sharp in his leather outfits, others critiqued that the 18-year-old pop star look like a kid in a candy store (or maybe that was exactly what the choreographers had intended for the show).
