Celebrities rise up to 'bare-face' challenge

While some of us can't imagine stepping outside our door without slapping on some makeup, these celebrities prove they can be confident bare-faced, even on camera.

Hosts of US talkshow "The Talk", went make-up free on Monday, after a viewer wrote in that no celebrity would be willing to go on camera without first applying make-up.

They took up the challenge and went bare-faced live on air, even though some admitted they were nervous about their appearance.

Co-host Sarah Gilbert admitted she suffered some anxiety. She "scrubbed her face" and put "cortisol from top to toe", to ensure she wouldn't suffer any breakouts on the day.

Host Julie Chen and the rest of her co-hosts, including Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Taylor, Sheryl Underwood and Gilbert, were all togged out in in bathrobes, as part of the 'au naturel' theme.

Even guests on the show like Jamie Lee Curtis joined in and appeared without a stitch of makeup.

The show also gave rise to hilarious responses to their amazing 'make-unders', and left plenty of room for self-deprecating humour.

Chen says without her glamorous makeup, people could not recognise her and a customer mistook her for a manicurist when she was at a nail salon.

At least it proves that under all the thick makeup, celebrities look just like you and I, and if they can show their bare faces off to the world, so can we.

Why is the before and after photo of Julie Chen keep appearing so many days in Asiaone website. It is an eyesore and a source of irritation to viewers. The basic question is, is this Julie Chen pretty in the first place? and when I said pretty meaning without make-up. A REAL beautiful lady does not requires thick cast of comestic clay to camoflage their ugliness.

In short I think she looks like transvesite...
