Wife to Tom Cruise, mother to Suri, Katie Holmes is better known for her personal life than her professional career.

But she has, of late, regained some acting cred.

Holmes, 33, who found fame in the 1998 TV teen series Dawson's Creek, was recognised for her performance in the Broadway play All My Sons in 2008.

The brunette also received rave reviews for her portrayal of Jackie Kennedy in the TV series The Kennedys (2011).

After last year's horror flick Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark, Holmes now shows off her funny side in Adam Sandler's new comedy Jack And Jill, which opens here today.

She plays Erin, the sweet wife of protagonist Jack (Sandler) and who helps him make peace with his needy, passive-aggressive identical twin sister Jill (Sandler, in drag).
