Michelle Chia and Shaun Chen confirm split

"I, Shaun Chen, and Michelle Chia, are currently undergoing divorce proceedings.

"With regards to our friends and the media's concern, thank you for your care and understanding.

"Please give us more space and understanding during this trying time.

"We sincerely wish each other happiness, and may we stay healthy and happy in the future."

This was the statement issued by local actors Shaun Chen, 32, and Michelle Chia, 35 last night.

The couple registered their marriage in April 2008 and held their ceremony 13 months later.

Chia told The New Paper that the decision is 'an amicable agreement... after much discussion and consideration.'

She added that the reasons behind their split are 'too personal and difficult to explain'.

The New Paper reported that Chia is the one who will file for divorce.

Chia has been rumoured to be dating a Caucasian man.

Former TV presentor Benedict Goh, who had dated Chia in the late 1990s, told The New Paper that he was 'both shocked and not', but added that 'in this day and age, divorce is common'.

The once-loving couple met at the set of the Channel U drama 'Power of Love' in 2004.

They were noticeably distant from one another during the recent Star Awards. Chen reportedly seemed shocked by his wife's provocative attire, which left little to the imagination.

Have never like this pretentious and attention seeking 30-something who has yet to realise that she is no longer in her teens. There is a tinge of crassness in her whenever she gets carried away. Sincerely wish Shaun Chen happiness, and may he stay healthy and wise in the future!

What hold you both together? and what actually hinder you both to stay on together?
It's hard but cool down and try again to set the mind and focus right!
The find a lifetime partner found a wonderful gift in life! It's an art of living together, and constantly fine tuning and adjusting to accept each other's good and bad stuffs.

Love is the answer; But human's loves fails; let the true LOVE see you through and surpasses all your agony, confusion and misunderstanding.

... it. what kind of family are we talking about.
If both aren't ready, then hold on first and don't rush to it. Why not look back of those photos, and calm down to think, to reflect and ask yourself, why, why and why!
Let's assume both of you have nothing at all, strip off all your fame, and all that you have posses from this world and imaging both of you are in a place where nobody knows you, will you still love him/her?

See, if you want to marry then both must get prepare to change in many areas of your life. For instance, your priority, time, plan, future and down to every single things you do, you have to consider for the other party. This is the scarifies, and it's out of love!
Remember your wedding vow! Probably, not. May be read it once again, see what does it ready means to you.
Marriage is a long term commitment and responsibilities of both the man and the woman. The two to reunion as one to start up a family be fruitful from that. The husband respects the wife as a weak one and to take good care of her, and the wife respects the husband as a leader of the family and to support him in many ways. It's a team effort! It's the fundamental since from the beginning and without .....

Aiya, if our ministers can command salaries peg to 'commercial value' than adhering to higher principles, what not a celebrity can do to milk on all the multi-$$$ endorsements from their wedding then? If our TOP model like government can dilute virtues and principles, anything goes already, right?

As a public figure and artiste, she lacks the moral sense to conduct herself and set good example to the people and fans. You can be attractive in the most respectable, oriental and demure sense. Flashing skins to arouse the senses of men is not beautiful, it is cheap.
