SOME did it out of contractual obligations. Some did it to prevent alienation from their fans. Others did it just to maintain some form of privacy in their lives.

Singapore's very own Stephanie Sun was found to have filed a marriage application secretly with her Dutch fiance Nadim Van Der Ros on March 31, but she is not the first celebrity who attempted pull off a hush-hush marriage.

Other asian celebrities that got hitched secretly include Jackie Chan, Andy Lau and Miriam Yeung.

Ronald Cheng and Charlene Choi also belonged to the group, until they got divorced in 2010. The irony of it was that they announced their marriage (of four years) and divorce simultaneously at a high-emotional press conference.
