An inside look at Ferragamo timepieces
by Sharan Kaur

The first ever Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces collection is now available in Singapore. The impeccably-crafted collection comprises four main families – F80, Gancino, Vara and Salvatore – inspired by Ferragamo’s signature products.

DivaAsia introduces you to the range of watches in the collection.

F80

The F80 collection was created to celebrate Ferragamo’s eightieth anniversary in 2008. Association with the Ferragamo’s “Travel Luxury” sector, the timepiece combines a titanium structure with a refined ceramic, featured both on the bracelet and on the case top ring. The Automatic Chronograph is presented in dual time zones, keeping with the travel theme, while the Automatic Tourbillon will be presented in an 18K gold case, produced on demand in limited edition.

Gancino

Gancino refers to the name of Ferragamo’s fastening on many of their handbags, belts, and cufflinks. The signature symbol has now been seamlessly worked into the shape of an effeminate watch. Precious jewels, diamonds and gold adorn the more luxurious watches in this collection while a steel line is also available for everyday wear.

Vara

The Vara collection is inspired by Ferragamo’s iconic shoe of the same name, which has  been the luxury label’s highest-selling heels for the past thirty years. The design of this watch was borrowed from the shoe buckle, and also comes in a kit of three interchangeable straps – so you can pair your watch with your Vara shoes. You can also purchase different watch straps separately, ranging from crocodile and lizard leather to gros grain, all available in a rich chromatic offer.

Salvatore

The Salvatore timepiece is a sharp and timeless design inspired by the unique silhouette of the famous platform wedge created by Ferragamo in the ‘30s.  Aimed at the “truly Ferragamo customer”, this collection pays homage to the Italian brand’s craftsmanship tradition. The straps are made of precious alligator leather and the watches also feature guilloche dials, giving this timepiece a stronger male orientation.

Salvatore Ferragamo Timepieces are available at Salvatore Ferragamo and Cortina Watch boutiques. Prices range from $1600 to $78,000.
