Day 3 at AFF: Sheila Sim, Song Kyunga stunners at Marchesa show

All was well at the Tent@ Orchard on Day 3 of the Audi Fashion Festival.

Warehouse showed a lovely collection of summery  dresses, blouses and lots of accessories earlier in the day, while Tiffany & Co and Marchesa showed why they are Hollywood celebrities' go-to labels for red-carpet oomph with big, yummy jewels and long, flowy gowns.

Most of all though, we thoroughly enjoyed watching Sheila Sim and Song Kyunga walking for Marchesa. Hurray for the people at Samsung who had good sense to invite these Asian beauties - this being a fashion extravaganza for Singaporeans and the rest of Asia. We were also very much tickled at the gentleman in the audience who hammed it up by egging Song on with wolf-calls and shouts of "Pose, girl, pose!" as she emerged on the catwalk.

Judging by the snatches of Korean conversation overheard earlier during rounds of pre-show drinks, Song must have been the reason for so many Koreans in attendance. We say this is good for our retail economy, especially if tech giant Samsung has enough regard for the festival to fly their very own supermodel out to our sunny island.

But some of the models were definite misses tonight. Like that one who hunkered down and put on such a stern glare when she took to the runway for Warehouse, you might be forgiven for thinking that runway shows are thoroughly serious affairs, or the model at Tiffany's showcase who stood out - for looking like a cross-dressing man.

And even as we loved those delectably flowy Marchesa gowns, incredibly high heels and an overabundance of dress hems just do not make good partners, seeing how one poor dear almost took a spill on the runway in a beautiful lavender number. The air felt electrified as everyone saw that mishap, but we say kudos to her for catching herself in time
