Fab fashion comes to Jurong Point
by Victoria Barker

GET fabulous this weekend at Jurong Point’s Fashion Runway Show.

Held as part of its Look And Feel Absolutely Fabulous campaign, which began last month, the fashion show will take place on Saturday.

“It will be a full-fledged fashion show that will turn our entire third-floor corridor and link bridges into a catwalk for the first time,” said Mr William Seet, the centre director of marketing.

Fashion labels such as Converse, prettyFit, Joop and Everlast will be featured at the show, Mr Seet added.

Shoppers at the mall had been submitting silent bids for 16 outfits that will be modelled at the show, and the results of the auction will be announced on Saturday.

Saturday’s event would also see the crowning of Jurong Point’s Next Top Stylist, chosen from the finalists of a competition organised in conjunction with home-grown fashion label bYSI.

The competitors are students from Raffles Design Institute who have been showcasing their creativity in various ways.

For example, the four finalists had to put together a mock window display at the mall’s main entrance.

Shoppers were invited to vote for their favourite display. Their votes, together with the judges’ decision on a makeover challenge. – in which the finalists are required to style a model’s clothes, hair and make-up - will decide who walks away with $1,000 in cash and a two-month internship with bYSI.

Shoppers can look forward to more such events at Jurong Point in future.

“We wish to share with our shoppers ways in which they can create versatile and trendy looks without burning a hole in their pocket,” said Mr Seet.

“We hope to educate the suburban shopper about their available style options.”
