Film-maker Lu Chuan has disclosed that actress Tang Wei, who was slapped with a media ban in China for the 2007 film Lust, Caution, might have enemies in high places.

He says two theories on why she was singled out were well known in showbusiness, but seldom mentioned in public: She either failed to attend the function of a high-ranking official’s relative, or an actress turned a bigwig against her.

Lu refuses to name names, but says Zhang Ziyi is not the one.
