Cloud 9 Facial by SK-II Boutique Spa
by Cynthia Loh

Fans of the SK-II line of skincare will be happy to know about the latest facial offering by SK-II Boutique Spa by Senze Salus.

Located in a quaint black-and-white bungalow along Scotts Road, the SK-II Boutique Spa, which offers facials and treatments based exclusively on products by the Japanese skincare brand, has come up with a new facial that can be tailored to fit every skin type and address various skin concerns.

At 99 minutes, it is the longest facial treatment from the spa's menu. It uses up to 16 types of SK-II products, including SK-II's Facial treatment essence to soothe concerns ranging from dry skin to uneven skin tone and ageing skin.

Another first with the Cloud 9 facial is the use of organic essential oils blends during the treatment to promote better absorption and promote overall well -being. Two types of oil blends are offered - the Uplift blend has Rose Otto as its main ingredient, while the Soothing blend features German camomile.

Opt for the Soothe blend if you tend to have sensitive skin, but if you have ageing concerns, do try the Uplift blend. Women who have tried the facial prefer the floral rose fragrance, which is still suitable for all skin types.

If you are a first time visitor, your session begins with a detailed skin analysis. Using a skin analyzer machine, your therapist determine what products are suitable for your skin concerns. This step proved to be helpful for me in understanding my skin a little better.

Using a device to show me my skin's condition under magnification, she explained that I had skin cells that were oxidized - a result of damage already done.

The entire facial included cleansing, extraction (it was less painful than my normal facials), and treatment tailored to my skin's needs, as well as a an aromatic massage for the face, neck, shoulders and scalp that is designed to stimulate lymph node stimulation and drainage.

I was also pleased to know that the therapist provided complimentary brow trimming as well.

Finally, don't worry about having to lie on those traditional stiff facial beds, as the spa provides its signature Senzational Beds that come with heated pads and a luxurious duvet.

While the Cloud 9 facial is normally $280 per session, there is a promotional rate of $199 for the months of November and December. Promotional package rates are also available.
