Are there facials suitable for oily skin?
by Hong Xinyi

Q: As Valentine's Day is approaching, I would like to ask my boyfriend to pay for a facial as a gift. I am 23 and have oily skin as well as enlarged pores, whiteheads and blackheads. Which facials would you recommend?

A: Here are some nice options for your Valentine's Day treat.

The Lancome Beauty Institute's Extreme Purity Treatment (60 minutes, $125) aims to give you a more refreshed and radiant complexion by deep-cleansing pores and detoxing skin. The Lancome products used depend on your skin type, which will be diagnosed prior to your treatment.

The SK-II Boutique Spa by Senze Salus has a Skin Refining facial (60 minutes, $160) suitable for oily and combination skin.

A sonic cleansing machine is used to remove dead skin and a machine that uses light electric currents also helps with deep-cleansing and killing bacteria to minimise the possibility of breakouts.

SK-II's Skin Refining Treatment is used to help soften whiteheads and blackheads for easier removal.

Insitut Clarins also has a Truly Matte facial treatment (60 minutes, $140) that, as the name suggests, helps to control oil for a nice, matte complexion. The treatment also helps to control blemishes.
