Model, entrepreneur and former beauty queen Kavita Sidhu is adding another feather to her cap – she will be launching her own clothing line come March.

The former Miss Malaysia who is also an actress, TV host and film producer, recently sealed a deal with a top eco-friendly clothing manufacturer and exporter from India to produce her resort wear collection.
 
Kavita said the STYLO Fashion Grand Prix KL would be the launching platform for her debut collection comprising some 40 pieces including jeans, swimwear and beach outfits.
 
The fashion event would take place end of March in conjunction with the Formula One race in Sepang.

Kavita, who is the first Malaysian to win an international beauty pageant, said she was pleased to work with Shahi Exports Pvt, Ltd, which manufactures and exports ready-made garments for the international market.

“They work with top brands worldwide such as Gap, Guess and Abercrombie & Fitch. I have been looking for a good manufacturer that uses the latest creative technology and can design what I want.

“They use environmentally-friendly fabrics and focus on global sustainability which I am all for.

“Creative technology for fashion is the way to go. My idea is to come up with a modern collection using natural fibres. I am glad they decided to work with me although mine is a small company,” said Kavita, who was in India recently to seal the deal.
