Faye's back after five-year hiatus

After a five-year break, pop queen Faye is back to the stage with her new song You Lan Cao.

The new release is the theme song for the upcoming epic film Confucius, which stars Chow Yun-Fat, Zhou Xun and Chen Jianbin.

With only 64 characters, You Lan Cao , which only has 64 characters, is adapted from ancient poet Han Yu’s eulogy on orchids which resonated with iconic philosopher Confucius.

Wong's ethereal voice, is said to be perfect for the song.

You Lan Cao was released last week at Confucius official website while the RMB150mil (RM75mil) movie will hit the cinemas by Jan 22.

"Joining the film means a lot to me. There’s so much negative information and emotions in our world or in art productions."

"Among them are sharp and deep questions. And Confucius has the answers."

"The film reminds us to inherit the spirit and thoughts of our ancient philosophers. It’s our roots which we can’t lose,’" the mother of two told the Chinese media in an interview recently.

The film was directed by Hu Mei, a popular female director in China.

It tells the story of legendary Confucius’s life some 2,500 years ago when China experienced a warring period of conflict, schemes and fights.
