YOU heard it here – the hair trends at London Fashion Week (LFW) will play on the grown-out bob.

my paper got a glimpse into upcoming runway styles from Ms Efi Davies, an international artistic director from Toni & Guy, and Ms Jane Stacey, Toni & Guy’s international technical director.

Both stylists are in Singapore to help Toni & Guy launch the latest trends and hair colours, and will be part of LFW.

Tony & Guy in London has been responsible for LFW hair for the past nine seasons.

Both stylists will work on looks for over 80 shows, including Vivienne Westwood and Burberry.

Stylists will be looking at “manipulating the hair structure and adding different textures” to mirror the textiles and material used by designers, said Ms Davies.

Ms Davies, who has been in the industry for over 13 years, said “the trend now is to have a strong bob underneath and a softer flowing layer on top for movement”.

The inspiration was derived from the bob in the 1950s, which she said had a touch of glamour mixed with “futuristic shapes from the 60s”.

The iconic pixie-look, made popular by British model Twiggy in the 1960s, is also getting a modern twist.

“Instead of working with strong perimeters, we’re giving a more grown-up feel to the style by adding more texture. The look is soft and beautiful,” said Ms Davies.

Also expect colours that are more natural.

Red tones will be richer and will have hints of pink, said Ms Stacey.
