Zhang Ziyi accused of seducing a married man

CHINA - A watch shop in Beijing featuring a huge poster of China actress Zhang Ziyi was splashed with ink.

The incident was said to have been linked to the superstar's involvment in an alleged RMB200mil (S$41.2mil) cheating case.

Zhang was also accused of seducing a married man.

The watch shop was at a hotel where Zhang's residential suite is located.

China's Sina Net reported that a group of five men, arriving in a car, had stormed into the hotel about 11pm a few days ago.

The men asked the security guards which floor was Zhang staying at.

Then they started using vulgar words, accusing Zhang of being a cheat and seducing a married man.

They left after failing to get any answer from the guards.

Half an hour later, the same car returned to the hotel and two men alighted from it.

The men splashed black ink at the shop located at the east wing of the hotel.

The incident was witnessed by a large group of reporters waiting for Hong Kong actress Maggie Cheung.

It was speculated that Cheung and her German boyfriend Ole Schreen would hold an engagement ceremony at the hotel that day but there was no sign of them.

Sources said that Zhang and her brother had allegedly cheated their business partner of RM100mil.

Zhang was also said to have "snatched" the husband of the businesswoman.

Rumour has it that the businesswoman is Wendi Deng, the wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Zhang's manager Ji Lingling, however, denied the speculation.

She said Zhang was focusing on her acting career and had never been involved in any business, adding that they had informed the police and sought legal advice on the matter.

She also said Zhang and her fiancee Vivi Nevo were in a stable relationship.
