It is the end of the year and with the festivities inching close, Frectify has stepped up on our hunt for the worthy grub to match your festive appetite, and it brings us right to the door of Chili’s Bar and Grill.
Welcomed by enthusiastic and chirpy servers, Frectify was more than excited to see what this diner had to offer.
Decked with pictures of satisfied faces of customers on brick walls, this six month-old American diner sure had a way of making its patrons feel at home.
First up was the specially concocted margarita, with recipes exclusive to Chili’s only (prices start at $14.90).

We were served a range of heavy (suited for night outs) to the lunch-time friendly ritas.
All of which came in generous servings, but the one which captured Frectify’s heart was Top Shelf Margarita ($15.90).
This pretty pink drink, rimmed with caramel sugar and topped with different berries and mango, is light on the alcohol.
Well, at least that was what we thought, until fellow Frectifier turned beetroot after a couple of sips.
Then again, maybe it’s just her.
Next on the table was Chili’s number one dish, Classic Nachos. With an appetite-expanding effect, this dish is for the cheese fans.
A combination of nachos, seasoned beef with jalapeño Jack cheese and Margarita spice, it is a dish not to be missed.
Although cheesy, you’ll be surprised at how it does not overpower the other flavours.
At $18.90, Classic Nachos makes for a good starter.
Crispy Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers are juicy chicken tenders bursting with flavour. Topped with spiced honey sauce, it is served with corn and mashed taters.
Each individual has its own distinct set of taste which also complimented each other.
The mashed taters is a mix of potato skin and creamy gravy which is thick but light on the taste buds all at the same time.
But overall, this dish is a little heavy, so sorry girls, if you are not much of a big eater like us at Frectify, then the boys have the upper hand on this.
If you’re a burger person, then this is for you. The Southern Smokehouse Bacon Bigmouth Burger, $22.90, is really for the ‘big-mouthed’.

It has ‘American Bak Kwa' (or barbecued pork, so we were told), stripes of crispy chile-rubbed awesomeness (better known as bacon) stacked in between the sesame bread , and ancho-chile BBQ sauce on the side.
Unfortunately, the taste did not live up to how it looked. Although tasty and flavourful with the unique, crispy biscuit-like ‘American Bak Kwa’, it is not exceptionally impressionable.
But if it is one of those days you are craving for burgers bigger than your face, then by all means knock yourself out.
Of course, no meal is real without a heavenly sugar fix at the end of it.
At Frectify’s table, it came in the form of Molten Chocolate cake ($13.90).
This cute boob-like cake (we are not joking), topped with baseball sized vanilla ice cream encrusted in chocolate, is the real deal.
Moist and spongy, the cake together with the chocolate crust and ice cream is worth all the calories.
Perhaps the price tags might seem a tad worrying, but we are looking at plus-size servings with delightful flavours to match, and when you’re out with your date (assuming you have one) you can’t be having that many dishes if you don’t want extra flab peeking out the waistband, now can you?
So fret not darlings, a fifty bill should do the trick and that includes a tip too, if you like.
