DIY Hair: Make Waves
by Karen Tee

KIM ROBINSON (top left), 53, owner of Kimrobinson Singapore 02-12 Takashimaya Shopping Centre

BEFORE

The look: Glamorous waves for the sophisticated femme fatale

Level of difficulty: Easy

Time needed: 15 minutes

Suitable for: Medium to long hair

Tools needed: Babyliss curling tongs, from $128, from Kimrobinson Singapore; L’Oreal Elnett hairspray, $10.50, from Guardian stores

1 Take 5cm sections of hair and wrap them around a vertically held curling tong. Use tongs of the widest diameter possible.

The closer to the scalp you get, the more volume you will have at your crown, so adjust the amount of hair you would like to curl to suit your preferences.

2 After your hair is curled, pin a hair bow ($196, from Kimrobinson) at a jaunty angle on the head.

3 To hold the waves, spritz on hairspray before brushing hair to smoothen curls out.
